I have 5 out of 8 symptoms for swine flu.

I've been sick for few days.
I could hardly drive to get dinner for myself.
Thank you darling for taking over the wheels and making sure I have food to eat the following day.
And scolded me for bathing when I was having fever.
And make me buy bananas instead of pears so I won't have constipation ~~oh btw, I shit today haha~~

I've recovered about 60%.
No more fever and body ache.
But terrible cough and mild headache.
The coming two weeks will be spent mostly at work.
A lot of upcoming training and events.

I need to be healthy!!
Dinner tonight will be mee suah or soupy stuff.
Hmm, really sick man's food :(

Happy Belated Birthday, darling!!
He was taking a shower and when he was done (it was exactly 12am), I stood at his room door and wished him happy birthday. Then I brought him down to the hall. To his surprise he saw .....

this sexy-beautiful-sweet looking birthday ~~cake~~ jelly.

He's gonna kill me for posting up this picture. but oh well...

And we ate the jelly!
It was nice.
Not too sweet and the tropical fruit flavor is very natural.
Unlike normal jellies that adds too much of preservative and flavoring.
A good choice if you opt for something less cake-y :)

I went to fetch his brother from Bukit Jalil and we headed to Ampang Yong Tau Foo for lunch.

The boys ate all the fish balls and left only the veges for me -_-

I ate 2 brinjals and 2 bendis for lunch -_-"

After lunch, I drove all the way to Zoo Negara and used the small-tiny-that-can-only-fit-one-car-but-it-is-a-two-way-street road up to the hill. The birthday boy was still clueless to where I was bringing him. His brother and I was having fun talking about the 'ride' without him knowing a single clue.

Nevertheless, he was overjoyed when he knew where were we heading to.

We chatted with the owner and his staff and they taught us how to ride the bike. I suck at it, at first :( Not easy okay? With these kinda condition...

I took the auto bike ~~because I can't freaking ride a manual or I'll crash into the cliff and die~~ I think my bike was quite a new bike so the break and accelerator is still very tight. I need to press like damn hard only can break. And of course because I'm not used to it lah. We started our journey and I tell you I was like, erm.... scared that I will fall down and break my leg or something like that :P Lucky the tour guide was nice and he asked if I want to take a break and I said YES LAH OF COURSE!! The boys seem to be enjoying themselves. Shouting and laughing behind while I was concentrating on the track and my bike :S

After that short break, we continued our journey to the waterfall and it was not easy. I'm such a slow learner :( But we reached there safely. We made a U-Turn (in that tiny road tsktsk) and park our bikes and walk down to the waterfall!

When we arrived at the waterfall, it started pouring! But that didn't stop us from taking a dip in the water.

We swam, played water, dived and got a massage from the waterfall.
We climbed up the hill back to our bikes and the rain stopped!
The journey back was a lot more fun! Because I know how to control my bike hehehe. Slow learner lah me. And the rain earlier made the ride a lot more adventurous! There were puddles of mud and the land was softer so it was a lot more exciting! And the wind blew at my face and wet body and it was damn cooling! :D

We reached the hut about 30 minutes later and the rain started pouring again! No I didn't make that up. The weather was really on our side that day. Thank you God of Weather.

We went home and changed and rest for a while before heading off for dinner at Bijou at Mont Kiara (I asked the waiter, he said it's pronounced as 'Bizu' or something like that. I just nod my head as though I understood hehehe).

that I have a super nice boss?

I had an extremely long "weekend" because I wanted to go back to Penang and he said he'll go to Jakarta at the same time so that I can get a longer weekend holiday. And guess how long was my weekend without work?

11 ~~freaking~~ days!

I was lazing around and waking up at 11am almost everyday :P

Today I got up really early and went to Melaka for a business call.
Then when we reached back in KL:

Boss: I told you in the sms that I have a pleasant surprise for you right? Mel: uhhuuh. What is it? :) Boss: *takes paper bag from back of car and hands over to me* Mel: *looks into the bag* O__O (There were 5 formal shirts in it. In different colors) WOW! That's alot! Boss: Just remember to tell your boyfriend that this is nothing personal. Just that I think it's going to be very expensive for you to buy your own blazer and pants suit now, so I bought it for you *hands over 3 pairs of pant-blazer suit* Mel: *speechless* Thank you :D

I'm so excited.
I just booked my....

flight ticket to Singapore!

Going there to attend my boss' daughter's wedding.
Yea I know, it's his daughter's wedding.

Why am I invited?
I have NO idea. Hahaha.

But nevermind lah.
Get to go Singapore to jalan jalan.
And hopefully he'll sponsor at least half of my expenses.
Then, I'll be a happy and contented ~~girl~~ ~~woman~~ lady.

My 22nd

This is a belated post on my birthday.
It was a weekday so I had a very simple and humble celebration.
I had to work actually but as usual my boss said I could take a day off if I wanted to and the day before my birthday, he said I might as well take two days off so I can enjoy my birthday celebration :) Nice..

On the 24th, my boss took me to Victoria Station for lunch as a birthday treat.

I was actually very shy to take pictures of the food lah because he's my boss not my friend. So I didn't. Then he went to the washroom and I took out my camera and snap all the food hahahaa.

And just before my main dish came, my boss was back from the washroom. So that explains why I don't have any picture on my main dish. Hehehe. I had grilled lamb and prawn platter and my boss had Sizzling Bombay. Main dish was nice, huge portion as well. Just before I started eating, he said "eh, you brought your camera? Must take picture! It's your birthday meal!!" So, I gladly took out my camera for him and he took a picture of me.

We were going to meet Carrefour's HR Manager for a meeting, that explains why I was wearing a formal shirt.

And then we started eating and out of a sudden he said
"eh, you never take a picture of the food we ordered! Ala...."
I went like O_O
Now I know, next time can take pictures of food liao when go out makan with him. Hehehe.

Brownies of the month

I was so bloated I had to stuff the brownies into my mouth and dunk it down with a glass of water. LOL ;p
It was a good lunch. Got to know about each other's family and background. And what I expect from this job and vice versa.

On my birthday day, I received a lot of birthday wishes through SMSes, calls, MSN, Facebook etc. All that really made my day. Seriously.
Filbert and I went for lunch at this porky place nearby called Vintry. If you enjoy drinking wine, this is a place to go. otherwise, you can be a pork lover too :)

I expected the portion to be small considering it is just a sandwich, but I was wrong!

After lunch, we went pak thor-ing and watched movie and then went home to get a nap before heading to Luna Bar for a drink :)

3 of us ordered alcoholic drinks while one ordered lime juice. And, guess what!!
I wasn't the one who ordered lime juice ;p

I actually ordered some cranberry with some alcohol which I thought would be ok since the cranberry juice might cover the alcohol taste but I was so wrong!!
It stinks of alcohol. And it tasted yucky! :(
I didn't like the smell and the taste so I gave it to Filbert and ~~forced~~ he gave me his drink instead.

His drink was so much better. The alcohol taste wasn't strong and it was kinda sweet. I actually drank almost the whole glass. causing me to turn red and hot, I mean feeling hot ;p

Luna Bar is a very nice romantic place to go for a drink with your bf/gf and also group of close friends. Very nice view of KL from the 33rd floor. But the drinks can be pretty expensive though. RM150 for 4 people. But, all in all it was a good first time experience :)

I just got back from the bank and I'm pissed!
Arrggh!

Sometime back my dad banked in 15k into my bank account because I wanted to get a car. Considering that I'm a poor girl who just started work with limited amount of cash in my account, my dad agreed to pay 15k downpayment for my car and I'll pay the monthly installment on my own. He banked in the money but I couldn't get the car loan because I just started work not too long ago and I need a guarantor. Because my dad is in Penang, so I thought it will be a lot easier for him to sign the documents in Penang so I changed my mind. Instead of buying the car in KL, I asked my brother to get it done for me in Penang. Now that the loan have been approved, all I need to do is to pay the downpayment in order to get my car. I went to the bank today wanting to transfer the money from my account to my brother's account so that he can pay the downpayment today and get the car by Friday so that he can drive the car down to KL for me this weekend, but the stupid idiotic bank said cannot! It seems the branch I opened my bank account is in Penang (yes, hello I'm from Penang and I opened it years back) so if I want to directly transfer the money into my brother's account, I need to do it at the branch I opened my account at (wtf you want me to go back penang just to get the money withdrawed?). I can still get it done here, but I have to withdraw it from the ATM machine which has maximum limit of 5k per day. So I have to withdraw 5k everyday for 3 days and then only go to the bank and bank in the money into my brother's account. They think I very free izit? Everyday go bank and withdraw money and then go again just to bank into my brother's account. Where the hell am I supposed to keep that much money before banking it in? My house? What if there is a robbery? There goes my whole harta pusaka. wtf. I just don't understand. yes, I opened the account in Penang but they freaking have my information on their computer because he could access to my personal particulars but they can't freaking transfer that money for me. wtf.

I'm very short tempered lately. Every little thing pisses me off. That day in the bank when I was there to sign my car loan, the staff was so ignorant when I was there. 2 chinese guys and 1 chinese lady saw me standing there but they didn't bother to approach me. They continued talking among themselves. I was pissed already. Wtf you think I'm invisible ah?! Then after some time one malay dude came and asked me to have a sit while waiting for the lady in charged because she's busy at that moment. Okay fine, I waited. I sat there for a good 20 minutes before the lady came to me (she was on the phone talking about personal matters, I could hear that from the place I was seated. Damn it) and said she doesn't know anything. She just walked off without informing me anything! Then I sat and waited for another 10 minutes or so and her colleague came to let me sign the documents. It probably took me only 10 minutes to sign the documents, at most. But I waited for at least 30 minutes, for nothing! I'm not saying that I can't wait, but at least inform me la. Tell me to wait for a moment while someone who is in charged will attend to me soon. Nothing at all. Bloody hell.

Then yesterday I was out to Times Square to accompany Shze Li to shop for her prom dress ~~which I ended up buying make up and blazer and a top and now I'm super broke -_-~~ and we took Monorail there. When we were queueing up to get into the monorail (it was 6.30pm lah peak hours) the line was rather long, but we waited patiently. When it was almost our turn (in front of me were 2 girls) there was this 3 guys who came squeezing themselves from the side when the monorail came. One guy managed to squeezed through and the second guy tried to as well but I didn't want to let him go through. I stood still ~~although I could have moved a little bit to allow him to go through~~ and tried to push him away but he was too fat he managed to push me and the third guy went in as well. wtf. brainless idiots.

Had seafood overdose

....... at Bagan Lalang.
This Lalang place is a MUST visit for all seafood lovers.
It's situated in the outskirt area of Sepang.
It took us about 1 hour 15 minutes from Mid Valley, and it wasn't too bad considering I forgotten the route there.

It was Edric's birthday so I decided to treat him a well since he've been treating me so many times. Time to chia him back. And he's a seafood lover so Lalang is a pretty good choice ~~I'm just lying. I've always wanted to go there and this is a good chance to get someone to drive me there. I just love seafood too much to resist this place~~

I was the ~~GPS~~ tour guide and the ~~old lady~~ person to pick the seafood and decide how to cook it. They turned me into a housewife in one night -_-
But lucky I was smart enough to do some readings and research about the food before hand! Thank God for loads of research work and readings in psychology.

If I'm not mistaken, we took almost all kinds of seafood available there.

Worth the traveling for 2 hours just for this.
Next trip down, I want to go a lot earlier so that I get to go to the beach! Oh yes, there is a beach in KL/Selangor/Negeri Sembilan ~~wherever Sepang is lah, I fail Geography~~ :p
This time I was working and went straight after work, which explains my half-dead face. Hehehe.

Boredom!

I'm very bored ~~and hungry~~ so let me tell you why I love my current job.

1. I get to dress up all formal and professionally to meet client. You know like the typical career woman. My boss was just telling me that we need to get a blazer for me so that it will be more professional looking when we meet clients. And the best part: he's gonna pay for it! Hehehehe.

2. I don't have to wake up early (on most days) because my boss is very kind wan! He will ask me to go office which is about 10 minutes away from my place at around 10am. So, I get to wake up at 9am. Unless we have events going on (just like last Sunday and the following weekends), I had to get up at 6am! -_- but I guess it's normal lah hor... I used to get up at that time everyday before this!

3. When I go to work, I have a chauffer to drive me around. And it's free of charge. And when I do go to work, my meals and drinks are paid for too. And I've been a regular customer to Starbucks and San Franscisco Coffee. I think I've been there more times in the past 2 weeks than I've been there for the past 21 years ;p

4. I now have an additional phone line to make business calls and it's all paid for too! :D The best part: my boss is going to get me a phone because I only have one phone and it's very troublesome to keep changing sim cards. It will be a cheap phone la of course. Probably between Rm200 to Rm300? Whatever it is, I guess, a free phone for me pretty soon eh? ;)

5. Let me tell you a story. Hahaha. So random siao eh.
Last week my boss gave me some work to do for last Sundays event. I didn't finish it yet and on Saturday we were supposed to go to Marriots Hotel to set up for the event the next day. And if you realize last Saturday was Valentine's day ma. Then I told my boss that I want to go back earlier on Saturday lah want to curi tulang a bit hehehe. Then he said got a lot of things to do, so I thought ok lor nvm liao lah. Then we were preparing for the presentation and then he said,"too bad it's not on Valentine's day if not I can tell the participants whoever is very participative can have a dinner with the master facilitator. But then, everyone might not want to participate to avoid having dinner with me! (hahahahaha! Why my boss so funny!?) Eh, wait. It's one day after Valentine's day right???! So tomorrow is Valentine's day no wonder you want to go off earlier! Okay, tomorrow you no need to go to work. You can go celebrate Valentine's day. Just pass the work that you're supposed to do to me and I'll finish it for you!" OMG Why is my boss so funny and nice?!??!

6. I get to learn all the skills that I would consider important to survive in working world. Communication skills, presentation skills, networking, how-to and how-not-to etc. Good skills to acquire for life lah I supposed.

7. I get to eat good stuff :D Like last week's event, it was held at Marriots Hotel. All the participants were provided with food at cafeteria while we *ahemthemoreimportantpeopleahem* were asked to go to the restaurant to enjoy the lunch at their expense! Now, life is good. Hehehehe.

Of course you will feel that my life is so selamba and this job is so easy! Nothing to do also. But, I can assure you that it's NOT easy in anyway! There are so many things I need to learn and pick up as soon as possible. He's training me and making me think think think critically!! My brain damn slow okay? Rusty liao :(

I swear I can feel my sweat dripping down from my bra -_-

Cooler in the sense that I don't sweat and wet my shirt when I'm at home in the afternoon!
Is that too much to ask for?? :(

Now I wish I have to go to office everyday to work.
At least I have an air-conditioned room.

Yes, I resigned.
Guess, my wish to be a manager just didn't work out as how I thought it would be.
Oh well...

I resigned due to a few factors.

1. My mom have been bugging and nagging me due to the nature of the job. She doesn't like her daughter going on the streets selling things. I guess it's normal for parents to react in such a way especially after spending so much on my education. I tried explaining my reasons for staying in the business but she seems to object it very strongly.

2. It striked me during the CNY holidays that what I really want to do in life revolves around my passion and interest and not really money. Of course having fnancial independence at a young age is very attractiv but I don't want to be doing my job for the sake of the money. I want to be doing my job at my own commitment and willingness. I can be a workaholic if I really like the job and money is not an issue (of course if the pay is good it's better lah).

3. I believe that I will be successful (one day) if I like the job and put a lot of hardwork now because I'm lack of experience for the time being. I want to be successful and be known for something (not for selling perfumes only). So, for the mean time I shall gather whatever experience possible since my boss is a very influencial man and hopefully with all the knowledge and experiences, my future will be more secured.

So, now I'm actually working for SDG Consulting under Tengku Indra, a very influencial man, as a Human Capital Associate. ~~Fuh, the title is super-the-canggih-makes-me-feel-so-sophisticated~~ I like the job ~~so far~~ although I have yet to start working. I'll be meeting clients with him next week and attend an event with YTL (Yes, Keshia and Ming Zi I remember the name now ;p) next Sunday. I have a pack schedule next week from Wednesday to Sunday. My first corporate meeting with Suria KLCC owner :D Oh and the best part, I don't have to go to office wan! hehehe. I work from home because my boss is a Singaporean and he's only in Malaysia from Wednesday to Saturdays. So, most of the time on Monday and Tuesday I'll be working at home... Wednesday to Saturday meet my boss at the Starbucks nearby my house (I no transport lah that's why meet somewhere convenient for me) for meeting and discussion for upcoming events for a few hours only lah (not 9am to 5pm job lah this one). Of course if got clients I will need to tag along to learn and see how he does things lah. But, I guess it will be pretty fun... I hope.

Now, I will have a lot more time as compared to my previous job to reply mails, messages on MSN, SMSes, phone calls and more time to spend with friends. Now you people can ask me out to yam cha at night liao since my working hours very flexible :)

Thank God for nice caring manager.

I’ve been so busy I don’t even have time to reply messages on MSN and my blog c-box.

Anyway, a little update on my job.

I tell you, this is not an easy job.

It’s such a tiring and tough job.

I’m currently working at Ampang in an advertising company from Singapore.

I get up at 6am everyday! Yes, just like how I used to get up to go to school (sigh).

Then leave at 7am and reach office at 8am.
Work starts at 8.30am.

Well, actually from 8.30am to about 9.30am all we do is talk, mingle and play around in the office to gain more ‘juice’.

Then we’ll have a short morning meeting and leave to ‘field’ at about 10am.

Every single day I have to work outside the office.

As a what, you might ask?

Promoting our own perfume brand, PV Collections.

Where?

Random places.

Really random places like makan shops, malls, retails, offices. Anywhere. Everywhere. With people.

It’s not easy I tell you.

You need the guts to approach these random strangers to pitch to them about the products.

It’s pretty much like a salesman. Selling products on the streets.

We work in the ‘field’ from about 11.30am to 5.30pm. Of course we take a break every one hour or so.

Talking and pitching to people is no easy job man. You have to talk talk talk, if they want to buy then good lah, if not then move on to other customers.

One day I talk to approximately 100 people. Satu ratus orang. I almost lost my voice a few times.

After work at 5.30pm, we go back to the office for an evening meeting at 6.30pm and then usually finish work at 7pm.

By the time I reach home, sometimes it will be about 8.30pm.

I eat, I bathe, I talk, I sleep.

The same cycle repeats again every single day including Saturdays.

Oh yes, I work 6 days a week.

A full day on Saturday! (Sigh!)

Some people said, “you got a degree in Psychology. You just came back from UK. But you go out to mamak shops and sell perfume ah? Waste time waste your parent’s money only send you there!”

Yup, I thought of it that way too. I studied so hard and now I have to work a full day under the sun. Sweating like a pig. And damn malu lor. Selling products on the street like that. How can?

And this is not the best earning job. We have to slave our butts off man.

So why the hard work?

Because, this is not merely a job.

But a career.

The career development is rather …. Good.

I started work as a trainee almost 2 weeks ago.

Last Saturday, I got promoted to be trainer (it took me 9 days!)

Some people have been there for 4 months but they are still trainees.

I was rather proud of myself for the progress I’ve shown and how I’ve impressed my managers.

As a trainer, I have my own team, Castor! (which means to shine to excel :D) and I will need to train new people to be under me. It will take a bit of time to train these people but patience will bring me success, I believe. If I can train 4 people under me and once they get promoted to be trainers (like me now), I will be promoted to be assistant manager. Once these 4 trainers under me start building their own team and training their own people, I will be on the roll towards the manager post. If these 4 trainers under me can train more people and I have a total of 9 to 12 people including those under my 4 trainers, I will be promoted to be a manager.
Once I am promoted to be a manager, I can run my own company and my monthly income is a bomb!

Of course, it’s a lot easier to be said than to be done.

To train and keep these people under me is no joke.

It’s not easy but it’s not impossible.

My manager managed to be a manager in just 1 year 2 months.

And his monthly income is at least 20k per month.And he's only 27. He have the rest of his life to enjoy.

All he day is to sit in the office while we slave our butts in the sun. How fun is that?

I don’t know how worth it is this sacrifice but if I don’t give it a try, I really wouldn’t know what I’ve missed.

I’m still hesitating up to this point whether or not I should continue working here. I’ve job a few job offers (yes, people offered me jobs! :D) because they said not everyone can do this job because it requires a lot of guts and commitments. I’ve declined a few but some are really good offers and I do feel a little wasted.Sometimes I really feel like giving up especially when the sales are pretty bad. I am not a good sales person but I don't want to stop without trying hard enough. Sigh.

I don’t know how long I can last in this field but I hope it will be long enough so that I will be able to see where my strengths are.

Someone told me this, if I don't give it a try I will never know whether or not I have the potential to be a manager in this area. Even if I don't make it in 1.5 years (my own personal goals), at least I have gained some working experience and I can move on to other jobs after that. What do I have to lose? Probably some face (because I have to go out and sell products) and money (because the pay is not that high). But, what if I manage to climb up the leader towards the managerial level? Then it will all be worth it. 1.5 years of hard work and struggle and I have another 40 years to enjoy my life. It really hit me and I thought "fine! I will give it a try. I'll see how long I can tahan lor. If really cannot then I guess I'll just move on to other jobs lor."

I really really pray and hope that I didn't make the wrong choice.

So, if you see me outside at some mamak stalls selling perfumes, you MUST buy from me okay? :D

I am finally.... a graduate with JOB!

I am no longer jobless.
I am no longer a sampah masyarakat.

But the first 3 months is going to be hell for me.
I will have to do shit jobs man.
Oh well, I guess we'll see from there lah.

What's more important is that I need to shop for formal clothes, real bad.
It's already Thursday today.
I'm going back to Penang on Friday morning.
Monday evening after Deepavali celebration, I'll need to rush back to KL because....

my work starts on TUESDAY!
Ahh.... but never mind.
I'm looking forward to build a stronger and more confident Melissa~! :D

When we left there, it was already 12 something in the morning. Then went to eat McD and left McD almost 2am.

Imagine this scene:

4 girls in one car. One driver (SL), one at the front passenger seat (me) and two behind (C & J). I was talking to SL and I was very much concentrating to what she was saying. I was looking at her while she was looking in front at the road. The two behind was talking among themselves and we came to this one particular traffic light and stopped because it was red light. Suddenly, I heard the back was very quiet. Okay, nevermind. Then SL looked to my side and she shouted "ahhh!" I was curious and I turned to my back (the passenger seat's window) and the first thing I saw was TWO ROUND HUGE EYES! And I shouted! What the hell wei!! 2am. No cars. No one. And suddenly I saw this LADY with huge eyes, white face, hair tied to the back, so near to the window, almost sticking her face there while moving her lips. Wouldn't you get a heart attack? Stupid lady! Arrghh! Then SL just wind down the window a little bit and that lady outside said she lost her wallet and wants to get a lift to Sungai Dua. SL just told her that we're not going that way and it was green light so she sped off. We were all silent for a moment and then we started cursing the lady! Middle of the night, don't la come and scare people like that. Super wth lor. I almost kena heart attack lor. She was so so near me okay?! OMG! That was why daddy and mummy always say, "don't go out late at night!" Yorrrrrrrrrr! Stupid lah she.

The next day I was telling my brother about this and before I could say anything in detail, he told me, "let me guess. She's malay. Quite chubby. Face very white. Eyes very huge. She said she just reached from KL and she don't have money so want a lift to BJ." My eyes went O____O
His description was exactly what I saw the night before. And my brother said once he came back from clubbing and he stopped at the same traffic light at 4am. Then this lady came to him and asked him for a ride because she just came from KL and she don't have any money. He thought it's on the way and wanted to help her so he gave her a lift and just when he was about to reach the place, he asked that lady where should he drop her. Guess what she said?

She scare the hell out of my brother and he told her no. He just dropped her at a taxi stand nearby and left. He saw her at the same traffic light again after that and she knocked on her window again. He buat tak layan and went off.

How creepy is that?
Is she human or what?
If human why wana go to cemetery early in the morning? At 4am?
If human then why always at the same traffic light asking for lift?

Seriously. Listen to your parents. Don't go out late at night okay?

Is it just the people around me or the world is really lacking of respect (for other people and oneself) and filial piety?

A friend of mine came to me recently telling me her problem.
She was very depressed and even said that she attempted suicide once. The reason being was because of her boyfriend. Her bf is two years younger to her and he have always been calling her 'aunty' even in front of his friends. He wanted to know about her past (especially whatever she did with her ex) and she thought it will only be fair to him if he knows about her past. So, she told him MOST of the things and thinking that her honesty will make him trust her more. Oh, he didn't trust her and he even went to see some 'bomoh' and it seems that 'bomoh' dude said she's not being very honest with him and he exploded and started yelling at my friend. After telling him about her past, he got so pissed and wanted to breakup. Why? Because her ex kissed her before (WTF?). She cried, begged him not to leave her and even held his legs asking him to forgive her. And so he did, but he told her that she cannot have any contact with any GUYS or even GIRLS. She cannot go out with GUYS (fine, if he's that kind of bf who is so super insecure then ok lah) but GIRLS too (He scared she'll make out with girls is it? WTH?)? She cannot even talk to her best friends because to him, they're all spoilt and corrupted people. He even called her prostitute and slut and cheap girl because of her past with her ex. He told her that "you can break up with me if you want, but I will just find another girl and you won't stand seeing me hugging and kissing her in front of you in college." What kind of guy is that? He don't allow my friend to go out with anyone but him, don't allow her to even talk to her girl friends, don't even allow her to go for her own cousin brother's funeral. Super WTF can? Her cousin brother passed away and he told her she cannot go for the funeral. And after some beggings, he allowed her but she needs to go LATE and come back EARLY and she CANNOT stay overnight at the mortuary with her PARENTS. The best part, he does everything that she cannot do. He goes out with his friends, guys and girls because according to him they're all GOOD and CIVILISED people unlike her friends. Oh yea, I forgot only civilised people like him will call his gf prostitute/slut/cheap girl and don't allow her to have any contacts with any guys or girls and stop her from attending her cousin brother's funeral. Yes, very civilised indeed. Bloody hell.

Seriously, with this kind of bf who cannot even respect his girlfriend I would rather be single for the rest of my life. A guy who can't respect his gf (or any woman for that matter) doesn't deserve any respect, at all. What I'm afraid of is my friend will attempt to commit suicide again because she seems really depressed and all I can do is to ask her to leave that useless bugger, although it seems useless. Sigh. What is wrong with the world?

On another unrelated story, I went over to visit grandpa's sister because she told my mom I didn't see her since I came back. I bought for her koay teow th'ng because she loves this kinda cheng thong food. We went over and she was sleeping (like permenantly) in the hall. Okay, let's just be more understanding. She's living with her second daughter and let's just say she's not well to do. She's renting a house and there's only one room for her to stay so she asked her mother to sleep in the hall. Fine. At least she's taking care of her mother. Her mother was eating and then my aunty went down to see another aunty who dropped by for a while and my grandma (so called grandma lah) told that this will be her dinner (it was at 4pm) because her daughter will not buy anything else for her to eat. Usually the daughter will buy for her lunch and dinner and that's it. She will not even take a drink for my grandma although my grandma is having difficulty walking. And my mom just asked my grandma what happened to all her jewelleries (she wasn't even wearing a small chain/earrings whatsoever) and she told my mom that her daughter took all her gold jewelleries and sold it off. Whatever money my mom gave her last time also her daughter took it from her. Oh great. You're robbing your own mother now? Good. Good. Then, my aunt came up with another aunt and her husband (this botak head guy) and was talking to my mom about my aunt (my grandma's daughter)'s breast cancer. My aunt didn't want to let my grandma know about this situation so they were all speaking in English and they tried to persuade my aunt to get medical check up because her condition is rather serious. My aunt said no one will take care of her mother and so she called her elder sister to ask her to take care of THEIR mother. Her elder sister is a houswife and all she do all day long is sit home and watch tv or go out with her daughter, and yet she said she's VERY busy she cannot take care of her mother and asked her younger sister to leave THEIR mother at home, all by herself. Great. Another great daughter. Another son of hers is so afraid of his wife and the last time my grandma stayed with them, his wife THREW (yes, literally threw) the food at her mother-in-law and the son didn't say a word. Not even a word. As though the old lady was sitting down listening to her own kids pushing the responsibilities to one another was not bad enough, my botak head uncle had to say "you don't have to care about the old lady. You're the young one here and your health is more important than your mother's health. She's old enough and she's halfway near death, so you don't need to care about her. Even if no one wants to take care of her, she can stay here for a few days. Even if she dies, it's time already." How will she feel? She's old, ALL her children don't want to take care of her and now the botak head said such things in front of her.

Exactly one year ago

.... it happened.
The memories are still fresh in my mind.
I cried. I hugged my friends.
I cried. I hugged my dad, mom and brother.
I cried again, when I saw my dad leaving the airport.
I cried even more when I was about to enter the departure hall.
While walking into the departure hall, Zi and I both cried.
We entered the plane with swollen and red eyes.
We were seated on the same row, but at different isles.
Just as the plane took off, I fell asleep. I was that tired.
I didn't even realize that the food was served. I continued sleeping.
The man who was seated beside me woke me up and I ate a bite or two, and then slept back.
We then landed in Bangkok airport for 3 hours transit and that was when we got to know a few more people, heading to the same destination.
We nicely took a sit in a cafe, only to realize that they do not accept Ringgit (jiran pun tak nak accept. tsk). Only Pounds and Dollars. Anwari yang bijaksana lagi baik hati belanja-ed all of us.
We took off after 3 hours for another 13 hours of flight, without any personal screen (stupid Thai Airways!).
20th September 2007, my first time stepping my feet onto the British land.
2nd August 2008, was my last day in London and I was so happy to leave that country.

But today...

I miss the stupid cold weather ~~it's so freaking hot now I just love London even more~~
I miss wearing jacket ~~although it's so troublesome but I bought so many and now I wana wear them!~~

I miss the clear blue sky.

I miss how nice the buildings look at night.

I miss the randomly hanging flowers on the streets.

I miss the snow. fight. I had.

I miss the cooling breeze and nice scenery.

I miss the flowers. Beautiful big ass flowers.

I miss Krispy Kreme.

Wanted to update on my Langkawi trip but I haven't received pictures from Joshua ~~the mangkuk head~~ so I'll blog about something else. Something embarrassing :( How I almost died! Not lying.

I went hiking and I almost died while hiking up.
Quarter way, I stopped then.. I felt dizzy.
To the extent they said my lips were pale.
Rest for awhile, then felt better.
Stand up dizzy again :(
Stupid stupid. No stamina.
~~Old people also so much better. Cis!~~
They were fanning me all the time and everyone wanted to hike down because I looked as though I was going to die up there ;p

Emily was also like me, but more strength lah. She kept saying we should have went for breakfast instead. And they planned what to eat while I was resting.

The guys were very energetic lah. Joshua, goes to gym so obviously he has the stamina to hike up lah. Still got energy to...

I have no idea what was he doing there actually. And I didn't notice that Emily was behind him until he told me. Hehehe.

He whipped Emily and then Emily whipped him back but she didn't know how to. So, Joshua wanted to demo HOW to whip people the correct way where they can feel the pain. And obviusly he wouldn't want to whip Emily or else he'll kena pinch until his hands blue black. And he wouldn't wana whip me either since I was weak, so who else lah...that can be his victim right? *cough* Filbertlahwhoelse *cough*

Once I gained back my energy and didn't feel dizzy anymore, we continued our journey and this time around Filbert was in front of me pulling me up. Hehehe. My whole weight was on him and guess whatttttt? I didn't feel tired at all! I didn't feel dizzy. I didn't feel my legs hurting! Omg.. should have asked him to pull me up from the start. Hehehe.

After quite some time, we finally reached.... Station 5! Omg, damn proud lor. Although initially plan was to hike up to Penang Hill ~~you see they all gila want ok? I hike 15 minutes also wana die d, wana hike up ALL the way to Penang Hill for few hours. Chee sin!~~ but we managed to make it to Station 5 which is like higher than Station 1, 2, 3, 4 okay? *pulls collar* ;p

After hiking, we went for breakfast and then....we went to the travel agency and enquire about our Langkawi trip. The next moment, Joshua and I was at the counter calculating the amount each person needs to pay and we PAID for our ferry tickets and hotel room! And... was getting ready to go shopping for our trip on Monday (which was only 2 days away)!!

It was such a last minute plan..and how did the trip turned out to be?

I've been MIA for more than a month.
And I better update my blog before my cbox gets spammed real bad ;p

Many things happened over the past month.
One most important thing is that I've handed in my dissertation!!!
I'm so free now that I went to MPH and got myself a book to read.
*ahem* I do read books okay?

I have so much to blog, I don't know where to start.
Everything I blog now will be so outdated that I can't even recalled what actually happened.

my outing to watch sunset!

I went out with Joshua, Filbert and Emily for lunch and we had Swensens! And Filbert belanja-ed us. I'm the happiest person on earth when got people belanja me makan! *hint hint*

We went to watch Wall-E (damn cute can? EVAAAAAA! :D) and then after movie it was already 5 something. And Joshua came up with this super random plan to go watch sunset at Balik Pulau. So, Filbert ~~the driver~~ drove us and our junks up the hill. We reached there earlier and had some time to kill and we crapped and talked and laughed so loud that I think everyone who was there dating (I think majority of the people there were in a pair, dating and we were the lost souls there) was literally staring at us. But, who cares la kan? Not like they'll ever see us again! ;p

After that, it was dinner time and the guys wanted to have seafood so we went for seafood by the beach. Penang is the best okay?! :D We had 4 dishes only, but it was good. And cheap too! The bill was only Rm40 for these dishes including rice and drinks! But, dinner was on Joshua so my whole days meal was covered by the guys! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

It's the 2nd August today. Do you know what it means?? :D

My flight is in few hours time.
Supposed to vacate the room by 10am but had so much to pack and clear so I'm still in the room now, blogging ;p

After all these dreadful months here, I'm so excited I'm leaving back home.
To be fair, it wasn't totally bad and negative all the while.
Yes, shit happens and it was such a disaster when things like that happened.
But, other than that I guess everything was pretty much good :)

Yesterday it hit me that it was the last night for me in London.
No more complaining about stupid tasteless food.
No more whining about the exchange rate.
No more saying that I have nothing to do and I'm bored.

As much as I want to go back, I felt heavy hearted to leave here.
Been 10 months since I came here, and my life revolved around this place.
Of course, I will miss this place.
It was a whole new chapter of my life when I came here.
Now, I'm going back and this chapter of my life will be closed, soon.
Once I hand in my thesis next month, the chapter of my life as a student will end as well.
Soon, a new chapter will begin where I will be an employee! Wooohoo. ~~Cheh, like got people wana hire me dah kan? Tsk~~

Anyway, for the time being.. I'm all excited to go back. I kept irritating Ming Zi by constanly reminding her that I'm going back. Hehehe.

It's going to be fun fun fun fun after this! ~~or at least I hope so~~

The boxes to ship my things back to Malaysia arrived today.
I got TWO big boxes to ship all my things back!
~~I was so happy that I taped the box upside down. LOL~~

The total weight for the two boxes can be about 60kg!
OMG! 60kg okay?
~~I can ship Ming Zi home also lor. She so light!~~
I can literally ship my whole freaking room back.
Muahahahaha.

I started packing all my things.
And 3/4 of my clothes are already in the box.

I went over to Hendon yesterday night for dinner at my friend's place.
Wah, banyak orang Cina.
Left right, I hear mandarin and cantonese.
Should be from Hongkong and China lah.
The whole floor full of Chinese people!
Bising sial.
Like home only. Except that they didn't speak Hokkien.
If not, I will surely feel like I'm in Penang already (ahhh, home!!)
And then I went into her room and I went O_O
Her room in the hall is like, her room at home!
She decorated the room until, wah damn nice okay?

Cannot really see in this picture but she had her OWN curtain, comforter, a lot of pillows, bean bags (from John Lewis lagi okay? Gila babi mahal), carpet (first time I see carpet in hall's room) soft cuddly toys, I dunno what writing on the walls and some thingy hanging just behind the door. So nice okay? Makes me feel that my room is so cacated. But never mind lah, I'm going back d :P

She cooked Indian meal. Her curry right, never use paste one you know ~~so unlike me okay? I rely on paste for EVERYTHING~~. And it's damn nice! Got chicken curry (she don't eat chicken but she cooked for us. Damn good can?) and also Indian styled vegetables.

It seriously felt like home. Like mom's cooking. Just that it's not that spicy because Iza can't eat too spicy. Later terbakar mulut dan esofagus.
And look at the plate! Got patterns one okay? Clover? I dunno lah, but damn nice. Her things all super cantik. And mahal! -_-

We ate the curry with bread and naan.
The naan very soft and nice.
Yummy...

Initially I wanted to buy desserts cz shy ma go there makan only. Not bringing anything. So I said I can buy cake, but she gave me a choice. I can buy cake, or she can make Indian dessert. Hehehe. Of cz I choose Indian dessert lah right? Not like the cake very nice also. Cheh!
And she made Kheer, or in Malaysia we call it Payasam.
Teramatlah sedap. Sungguh sedap.

After eating, we sat in her cosy room and talked. They all ar, made me laugh like siao lang only. Hahaha. Now, I know what they want in a guy. Hehehe. Ohh, unexpected ;) We wanted to stay a little longer, but it was quite late already. I have to leave at 11pm, or else I scared I can't get the last coach to get back into campus. ~~Then, I can sleep in the tube station, although I've did that before la ;P~~ Before going back, we took a few pictures lah. How to resist snapping picture when there's girl right? :D

As far as I can remember, I've always treated everyone (okay, most people) nicely.

And this ~~fucking idiot~~ fella, messaged me again yesterday but I wasn't home (I don't off my MSN even if I'm out). So, of course I tak layan lah right? When I got back, I replied his message asking if there's anything I can help but he was offline so I don't care lah. This morning, he sent me message again but I was about to go out to get groceries, so I read and then thought of replying when I get back home. When I got back home, he left me this message.

New room, new campus

I've been so busy lately and few days ago, I spent 1.5 days

packing my things.

Because I'm going back to Malaysia (Right! I wish lah). No lah, because I'll be having summer school in another campus and therefore I shifted to another hall. If you compare Trent Park (my current campus) to Enfield (old campus), it's a lot better lah. I love Trent Park. They got a lot of grass. Hehehe. I shall blog about the campus some time soon. So, anyway I packed and packed and this is my hasil for 9 months being in London.

My friend was so shocked to see all the things.

I came here with 2 luggages only lor. I seriously have no idea how I accumulated so many things, but again it has been 9 months since then. Now I know why shipping companies make a lot of moneys. And I will be one of the contributors, soon.

My room is one of the many many rooms. I was trying to explain to Beng how my hall looks like but I had a hard time explaining. Finally, I figured out a way to explain the hall and I told him to imagine Twin Towers. My hall is something like that, with two buildings and one walkway in the middle.

Although it's rather old, the security is quite good lah. Got guard in front the main door and they lock the main door. Only those with keys can go in. Even if you managed to break into the walkway, you will have a hard time going to either one of the blocks because of..

The one thing I will miss most about my room in Robbins is the toilet. I have my OWN toilet there and I love it a lot.

I realized girls can be extremely crazy when it comes to beauty.
They can go on massive diet just to loose weight.
Like not eating anything at all, or just fruits, or even ONE sausage per day.
They can buy dieting supplements although they know it might have side effect.
They can resist all their favourite food.
They can spend thousands just to have a make over.
They spend tonnes to buy make up and new clothings.

I totally agree with my dad in this sense. "Char boh all siao one" Lol.

While talking to A (I think she should remain anonymous or else she might kill me. hehe) on MSN, it made me realize that I cannot go on diet. I used to try once or twice lah, but it lasted for a few days (cannot exceed 4 days also) only. OMG lah, iman tak kuat langsung.

I was looking through my old folders and I saw old pictures of myself. I found this super ugly picture of myself. To make myself feel better, I would say it's the angle's problem. But, I looked at it for a few times and I'm very sure it's ME problem and not the angle.

Even with that kinda face also it never cross my mind that I should go on a diet.
That picture was taken end of 2005, which is 2.5 years ago.

I found a high school picture and I realized everyone looked so different now! Like how my tuition teacher used to say, he saw every one of us transformed from a duck into a swan.

Lorsh: I didn't go in lah. Over 18 only can go in. But I walk past the shop and then I saw condoms on display.
Someone: There's a lot of condoms on the counters at supermarket also what. Got all those fruity flavours. Strawberry lah, orange lah, banana lah.
Lorsh: Eh, that's not too bad what? I saw a condom on display and guess what? It's GLOW IN THE DARK!! Imagine, glow in the dark. At night, off all the lights, put on the condom and then, only one stick will be seen sticking out in the dark.
Everyone: HAHAHAHAHA *ketawa terbahak bahak until sakit perut*
Anna: Wei, what lah you all. Fruits and glow in the dark all not nice one lah. Next time I want to open a condom business. And then I invent my own condom flavours. You know what flavour I will invent?

I can't wait to go back to Penang. My flight ticket has been confirmed. I'm going back a lot earlier than my initial plan mainly because I miss ~~the food~~ my family and they miss me too. Hehehe. I asked my mom to pick a date (anytime after the 1st August) she wants me to go back and she picked the earliest date. So I confirmed she miss me lah. Hehehe. And also to meet the people back home. I simply miss those hanging out and makan session. Just sit and chat for hours. Go out for late night supper for Ramly Burger and Pancake. Shop for hours without feeling tired. Ahh, those wonderful days are approaching. Soon. 42 days ;)

Trip to Portsmouth

Been MIA for awhile and I think it's time to sayang my blog again.

I was away to Portsmouth for 4 days to surprise Li Huey for her belated birthday. The surprise didn't turn out that well lah. I tell you ar, I'm super bodoh okay? Tsk.

Initial plan: Travel there and knock on her room door holding the cheesecake with 21 candles lighted up. And then should "SURPRISE" when she opened the door. So, I bought a raspberry cheesecake the night before I left and a lighter.

On that day itself, I left my room early because I don't want to rush with my heavy bag and cheesecake. So I took my own sweet time walking from station to station to change tube. At this one station, I went up the stairs and then I reached the top. Somehow (maybe some ghost langgar me) I tripped and because I was holding the cheesecake, I wanted to protect it lah. Later I fall on it gone lah the cake. So I did some stunt (pusing here and there) to protect the cake and the next moment, I was on the floor, on my knees, holding the cake on one hand in the position of "will you marry me" Super malu-fying. Then took the train and when I finally reached there, I realized the cheesecake melted :( Imagine, it melted until the box also basah. I was left with no choice but to put the cake in the fridge first and then surprise her later on with it. So, I went and knock on her room door, and when she opened her door, I didn't shout "SURPRISE" because her flatmate was walking pass and I was shy lah. But she shouted instead. Hehehe. You almost cry hor Huey? :P Then, I waited like 3 hours or so and went to the kitchen to take the cake while she was in the room. I thought 3 hours enough to harden the cake but I was wrong! The cake was still soft and looks super eeww.

But, I don't care anymore lah. I just put 3 candles and then thought of lighting it up and guess what? The lighter wasn't working. Why? Because I left the lighter and candles and cake together. In the FRIDGE. Yes, I know I'm super smart. Feeling so stupid, I took the cake with 3 unlighted candles into the room, and told her happy birthday. Then pinjam her lighter and light it up. Damn bodoh. Tsk.

Anyway, it was a fun trip lah. How can it not be fun where I have Li Huey right? Hehehe. Food, shopping, talking, laughing, camwhoring. Ahh, stress buster okay? It was probably my last trip away from London before I head home in August :) We ate a lot. I mean SUPER DUPER OMG A LOT. You won't believe how much we ate. I put on 1kg only in 3 days. Seriously. First night we shared a Pizza and a dessert.

The next day, we did a lot of shopping and spent tonnes of money on clothes. The shopping area in Portsmouth isn't that big but we managed to shop for 3 or 4 hours, until our legs hurt and pocket burnt. And then at night, we still went for good expensive dinner at Frankie and Benny's. We reached there at 6.45pm and the restaurant was full. So we had to wait for our turn. Usually you need to wait in the restaurant and they will call you when got place right? This restaurant was smart enough to give us a 'remote-control-look-alike-thingy' that will vibrate when there is a seat for you. So you can take that thingy and walk around ~~and spend more money shopping~~.

We went to Victoria Park nearby her hall and it was huge and view was serene. The flowers were beautiful and colorful. So the cantik, that I feel like plucking it home.

Although I always complain that I'm deprived of good food, actually I'm not that deprived lah. Once a while still have the chance to enjoy good food, you know, like last Malaysian potluck gathering. It was a bbq lunch (the house people prepared bbq-ed food) and other penyemaks brought main dishes. We went there about 12pm to cook and prepare the food, and stayed all the way until almost 9pm. One reason is because they have tv lah (I'm really deprived of TV okay? 8 months without any tv can even make me sit and watch ppl singing national anthem all day). Another reason is because of the food lah of course. Malaysians get together, the food surely Malaysian food lah right? When got Malaysian food, you get the greedy me sitting there walloping all the food. Hehehe.

All the food above was only 3/4 of what we had. We had nasi lemak (Anwari's sambal yang membunuh) and bbq-ed food like sausages, burgers etc. Oh and cakes also. See lah how not to be fat here? But nvm lah. Demi good food, I don't mind. Gemuk pun gemuk lah. I rela mati kegemukan due to high consumption of good food than mati kegemukan due to eating chips and fried chicken.

Another good food is Turkish food. Not like I had much but there's this particular shop here that serves nice AFFORDABLE turkish food. 13 pounds for Vadi Special

Finally I'm gonna continue the journey in Paris.
It seems like it has been ages and I can hardly remember what we did there.
Ageing symptom lah I think.

Paris Day 2

We got up really early and although the muscle pain from yesterdays walking haven't subsided, we continued to walk like we don't feel any pain. All for the name of maximising our time in Paris. First stop was at

Opera National de Paris - Garnier

Anwari wanted to visit this place because according to him, there's a lake under the place and it's very beautiful. Lake UNDER the building sounds very impressive to us. So we went there and took picture

and then left the place. Because Anwari was afraid that we will kill him if there was no lake and paid €8 for nothing.

And then we headed to Stade de France, the stadium where FIFA World Cup was held in 1998. It has been 10 years since the €280 million stadium was built and it looks worse than Bukit Jalil now. Maybe on par with Penang International Sports Arena.

After going all the way for one picture, we thought it's time to visit the-must-see place in Paris.

Cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris

It was packed with people outside the cathedral and it was really sunny! So we took pictures first lah.

I know that our faces cannot be seen clearly but the main focus is the Cathedral lah, not us!

After a while we walked towards the Cathedral to go in and on the way, Ming Zi and I got approached by this Afghanistan? girl (If I'm not mistaken she's quite young). She asked us, "do you speak English?" And we thought maybe she wants to ask something lah, since French people can hardly speak English. We said yes and she immediately showed us this note stating that she lost her parents and she or somebody has some disease and needs money. Something along that line lah, not like I can remember such useless information when important ones also I can't. Then we just said no and walked off. Because of that, we started speaking in our oh-so-canggih-Malay and another "gal-whose-family-is-dying" came to us and asked if we understand English, and all we did was *blur face* "NO NO English" Before you point your finger and start accusing us of being mean and heartless, think about it lah. If only one person lost their family and needs money to cure someone, then it MIGHT make sense. But, if a bunch of them with the same story, same paper, same writing, similar age group and gender it doesn't make sense anymore. We do not condone such behavior and therefore will not encourage it.

Anyways, we went into the Cathedral and walked around. It was huge. It's an old Cathedral with nice music and architecture. The interior of the Cathedral was somewhat similar to those we saw in Scotland. We saw many people (students kot) sketching the interior and I took a peek at their drawings and I must say it was rather amazing. I saw this model and I think it's so prefect.

This is a wooden model of the Cathedral. It's wonderful. Every single details were carved onto it. Such a fine art work. It requires a lot of skills and patience to do this, okay? Which I don't have any of it.

We walked for a while and got tired so we went rested on the benches. In front of us were Anwari and Hani, talking about Malaysian food. Malaysians are inseparable with their food, just like how girls are with cameras :P

Since it was a sunny day, we took a stroll down the park nearby. It would be wonderful to walk around the park with your loved one, holding hands, eating ice cream (hint to my future husband :P). The parks in Paris are really nice. Even the trees look beautiful.

The grass are so green and the flowers are so pretty.
That I couldn't resist but to jump over the fence and took picture.

And we saw this tree with red flowers and it was really pretty. Reminds us of Para-Para Sakura. So we wanted to take pictures with it, ala-ala Bollywood Sakura.

Just beside the park was La Seine River, the Paris version of Sungai Klang or Sungai Pinang.

But looks a lot better, and cleaner too.
Don't you think the building looks nice? I think it is!

But our Sungais can't beat their river lah. They got passenger boat for cruising, okay?

€12 Euro for 45 minutes ride. Wanted to go for it, but it was too late and the cruise will only be halfway through the river because of the tide.

Their boat is not just a boat, but a nicely decorated boat. So nice that I would die to get married on that boat! Seriously.

By the time we're done, it was almost time to get to our most anticipated destination,

the Eiffel Tower =)

We purposely waited till 6pm to go up there, so that we get to enjoy the view before, during, and after the sunset. The best of three worlds.

It's huge! I was stoned. And amazed. And was so jakunly excited. I think Eiffel Tower was in my must-visit-list since, forever.

The Queen of Poser told us to do the jumping-pose, and it was my first time doing it. After many attempts, only ONE picture was perfect.

We have the choice to pay lesser and walk up the tower. But we didn't want to walk all the way up to Eiffel Tower lah, gila meh? Not like we got much strength left. So, up we went after paying €12 for two levels (middle and highest floor) by elevator. First stop was at the middle floor.

It was quite cold up there, and the wind was really strong.

But, I don't wana wear jacket because I want to snap pictures :P
Aku rela mati kesejukan.

We spent quite some time at the middle floor. Got really excited and was waiting for the sun to set. Clock shows 8.15pm, but it was still so bright.

The sun looks like it was about to set, so we decided to proceed to the highest floor for the night view. The queue to enter the lift was so damn long, and we had to..

We reached the peak just on time, for the sunset. In case you're wondering, the sun sets at 8.45pm in Paris, at THAT time. Now, the sun sets at 9.40pm. The view was seriously magnificent. But they had grills (damn kacau the scenery pictures only lor).

We couldn't stand the wind so we barely spent time up there. We went down not long after and decided to go for dinner at 10pm.

Even Eiffel Tower looks so much nicer and prettier with lights on, at night.

We had our dinner/supper and headed back to the hotel and we reached at 12.30am. By that time, all the walking on the second day added on to the pain from the first day and all of us were literally limping back to our rooms. But, who cares about the pain when we will be going to

Finally, I managed to upload most of the pictures and I can now blog about my trip to Paris. That trip seems so long ago that I can hardly remember what we did anymore. Hehehe.

Paris Day 0
Why day 0? Because not yet reach Paris ma. Still in London :P Our train was at 5.25am and because we're not in Malaysia and none of us own any form of vehicle here, not even bicycle, we had to overnight at the station. Imagine, you have to overnight at Pudu Raya just to go for holiday? Will you will you? We did lah, because we had no choice and also Kings Cross is A LOT better than Pudu lah. Hehehe. It's a better version of Duta. So, we reached the station around 12am and we had 5 hours to kill before our departure. This is not Malaysia where we have mamak all night long, and we can just order ONE glass of air kosong and sit there till our butt ache. To see a shop opens at wee hours of the day is an amazing sight, and amazingly Costa was 24 hours in Kings Cross. ~~Where to find 24 hours shop in London? Tesco 24 hours also close at 10pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday lah. Clinic closes at 1pm on Thursday. Stupid country~~ We ordered coffee to keep us awake the whole night, or at least until we are up on the train. We sat, drank, yak and yak and yak until it's time to check in.

Wooohoo! We're leaving for France! and get our passport stamped the word "Paris" =)

Not cheap okay this paper? It was 84 pounds (I think) for two miserable tickets. But, it was fast lah. 3 hours only. And also, no traffic jam and sufferings for 9 hours like what happened during Scotland trip.

Eurostar!

Staying awake for the whole night and I thought I can sleep all the way but no, I was wrong. I think everyone slept for approximately 30 minutes or so only. With Anwari sitting beside me, lagilah cannot sleep. He and his nonsense. But without him, not fun lah. No one to entertain us with his nonsense-ness.

Paris Day 1

We reached

Gare Du Nord (Paris version of KL Central)

and our misery of not being able to speak French began. Even the staffs at the ticketing counter don't really speak English. Thank God we had Anwari with us or else we will really ternganga there. We were on a budget trip (as usual lah) so we booked the cheapest and probably the furthest hotel, from the station. We had a hard time, finding for the right train to stop at the right station. Their system for trains are crappy okay?

Let me cheong hei a bit about their system lah. In Paris, they have a board hanging on the platforms with ALL the names of the stations. So, we THOUGHT lah, if the names of the staions are on the board means the train IS going to the station lah. We happily hopped onto the train (bear in mind we just arrived and we're having our backpack with us!) and thought we'll be reaching the station in a while (just 2 or 3 stops away). BUT, the train we were on DIDN'T stop at the station, instead it passed by the station and continue moving like it's not going to stop. Ever. We got down at the next station (which is damn far) and then asked the worker and he said hop onto the next train. Yes, we trusted him lah. We also took the next train. Manatau, this train also DIDN'T stop at that station. We kept passing by that station but we're not stopping AT it. So near yet so far. Sigh. After a couple of times just passing by the station, we finally realized that there's a small white box at the side of each station's name on the board. If the white board is next to the station you want to go, then you get onto the next train. If not wait until the white box appear lah. How are we supposed to know right? So damn complicated for tourist okay? Why can't they just use LCD screen to make our lives easier?

Okay, I digressed. When we finally reached the station we wanted to ~~after wasting like an hour or so~~, we had to take buses before reaching our hotel ~~this time we stayed in HOTEL okay? No more HOSTEL. Berlagak kaya~~ But, because we don't know the way, the route of the buses etc we got lost. Again. Took another bus and then ingatkan dah sampai manatau, we need to find the hotel some more. And we didn't know where to find, we just walk lah. Walk walk walk, finally..... after 30 minutes we saw our oh-so-cheap-but-oh-so-far-in-an-industrial area hotel.

Our hotel was situated in such an ulu place, where all we saw was worse than Penang. Those, kampung areas in Penang or worse than Sentul area in KL. First impression of Paris was bad. Bad. This is Paris, we expect to see nice tall big gigantic amazing buildings. Not this.

Look at the blue flat. Turn left, right, front, back, all I can see was that kinda flat!

We practically wasted 4 hours sesating, where ever we go. What a start to our journey. Rested for awhile and off we went to explore the wonderful city of Paris!

Maps don't really help us, you see. Although over the following days, we pretty much mastered the train routes in Paris despite the many lines they have. Hehehe. Oh, they have like 14 Metro lines, 5 RER and 4 dunno what line (I think) which is almost 5 times more than London! Amazing, amazing.

First stop: Arc de Triomphe

This arch is very famous because it's a monument for those who fought for France during some war. There's also this erm, burning flame which is in the middle of the arc, even with strong wind it will never blow off. The night view is a lot better, so we thought we will come back here later at night, when it's darker.

The wind was so strong that our hair were flying away ~~like some Rejoice moments~~ but the flame was still burning. Amazing.

Next, we went to..Musee du Louvre

It's the one you see in Da Vinci's Code lah. Hehehe.

We purposely waited until 6pm so that the ticket is only €6. Once we paid, we went in and jalan jalan. Initially quite excited lah.

We're not into paintings and sculptures lah. We paid and went in for ONE reason only,

I was eager to see her, ~~lama tak jumpa ma~~ but when I saw her, I was disappointed. I don't see what is so great in that drawing lor. It's so small if it were to be compared to other drawings in that room. And they had this barrier like 2 feet away from the picture with two body guards guarding the picture. Want to get a clearer view also cannot. Want to snap picture also so hard. Can some artistic people tell me what is so great about the drawing?
Because Anwari asked the body guards, "can you tell me what is so great with this picture?" and they answered, "no we can't" LOL.

But, the sculptures and paintings were all very detailed. Which was pretty amazing, to me lah.

Like this, there was even blood on it. Near the nail and wounded area. It shows how much thoughts and effort they put into building it.

By the time we left, it was quite dark already lah.

I like how the pyramid was built. Looks damn gaya. Impressive.

We went back to the Arc and took picture.

Now I know why is it called city of the lights. I personally thinks that Paris looks a lot better at night. With all the light. Such an amazing view. And also because they used a lot of yellow lights lah. Which creates the romantic feel. Romantic city ma, hor?

No, it's not the hotel we stayed at. The hotel we stayed was NOWHERE near this.

It was about 10pm when we left this place, and we had to take trains and buses and then walk for another 25 minutes before we can reach our hotel. Long journey, okay? And we didn't sleep for the whole night, so yea lah everyone was very tired. We got back to the room about 11.30pm and then slept till the next morning.
