Malaysian Night

A bunch of us went to Notthingham last Friday to attend the Nottingham Malaysian Night organized by Nottingham Malaysian Society. Since it was our first time to Nottingham, Keshia and Daniel took us around Nottingham university.
I tell you ar, the uni is sooooooo nice okay? So big. So nice. So green! They got big big big padangs. How I wish I could just lie on the grass, with my books, enjoy the cold breeze and snap pictures :)

I know I looked like I want to take the flowers back home. But, they're nice okay?

They even have this huge pond with a lot of 'roundabouts' in the middle, where we can walk by the pond and
enjoy the serenity of the view =)

They even have gooses. and swans.

We can also stand on this, erm, balcony kinda area to enjoy the breeze.

PenangPrincess enjoying the cold, windy breeze by the pond.

We went to the city and walked around, shopping mostly. We saw Notthingham Eye!

Very small as compared to London Eye. And I think Eye on Malaysia is nicer.
Malaysia boleh!

After that, all of us got back to our rooms and got ready for the BIG night. Mandi mandi, dress up and then zoomed to Kings Meadow Campus. Entered the building, and we camho-ed. Hehehe.

The shy girls, with their coats on. Tutup aurat.

The pimp and the ladies.

The ticket cost 10 pounds and the main agenda of the night was a play by the students. The title of the play, Tangisan Selendang, The Weeping Shawl.

10 pounds worth of ticket!

There wasn't any dinner, but they had light refreshments.

Kuih muih Malaysia.
Bengkang, karipap, kuih talam, and corn pudding. I think!

The play was nice. Quite the cerekarama-ish, but it was not too bad. Besides the play, they had musical performances and traditional dances. Funny thing is, back in Malaysia I hardly watch any traditional dances besides during schooling days. And came all the way to UK, paid 10 pounds to watch play and traditional dance! Manusia, manusia.

After the night ended, we continued to camwhore. Like Anwari said, dress up so susah, need to be vain and snap more pictures! Agree!!! =)

Anwari wanted to be the thorn among the roses and he took another group pictures with all the beautiful ladies.
Then, he asked all of us to do the 'gedik' pose.
Gedik take 1.
Failed!
Everyone was shy to do the 'gedik' pose! Besides Anwari.

Gedik take 2.

1/2 passed!
Only 3 of them - Ching Yee, Anwari and Hani acted gedik.
Look at Anwari's face! Lol.

Not long after that, the security guards halau-ed us out from the hall. I think because Anwari was too gedik already. Lol. On the way out, we stopped and took pictures, again! Vainness.

All in all, it was a great getaway from our hectic timetable. Leaving all our books, assignments and work behind in London. Now, it's time to get back to reality :(
